There is so much to explore at this museum and many of our visitors love what they have seen and learnt and have generously donated to the continued development of the museum.
As well as preserving local history and items of significance, we are planning to introduce an education program and to undertake vital campaigning work to protect the heritage of the district. We rely mostly on government grants which can be highly competitive which is why ongoing financial support is essential.
Your donation is therefore vital to help us with our work.

Museum Volunteers
Do you have some spare time? Do you have an interest in the local history? We have an exciting variety of volunteering opportunities available and are always keen to welcome new volunteers to our friendly team.
Museum or Heritage Studies students are also invited to apply for work experience.
There is a variety of jobs to choose from:
- front-of-house work greeting visitors;
- research assistant;
- office work scanning, labelling and cataloging;
- designing exhibitions;
- event planning;
- repairing collection items;
- grant writing;
- future strategic planning
- and so much more…
