We have just completed the 2021 update of the Evans Head Cemetery Register. This covers both the War Cemetery and the General Cemetery with information about the Service Records for all those who served; section and row maps; and family information where available.
We have drawn on the online resources from NAA, Trove, BDM, the Ryerson Index and Find-a-Grave to make a comprehensive list of all 1700+ people. Every attempt has been made to ensure accuracy but as some old records are difficult to decipher, they may contain discrepancies. We will happily correct any mistakes that may have crept into this record.
The register is available at the museum as a searchable database for anyone doing their family research or trying to locate the graves of their ancestors.

We acknowledge the incredible work Judith Jackson and her museum research team did in the early 2000s, and also the fine research done by Richard Gates and his team for the “Behind the Headstones” project which was produced in 2012 for the 70th Commemoration. The biographies for the War Cemetery were obtained from this exhibition.
